Frequently asked questions.
How long before my licence disc expires should I renew?
You can renew any time from the month before expiry. If your disc has already lapsed, South African law allows a 21-day grace period from the expiry date before arrears and penalties apply — so the sooner you start the process with us, the better.
What happens if my licence disc has already expired?
We can still process your renewal. Depending on how long it's been expired, arrears (a pro-rata portion of the annual fee) and a monthly penalty may apply — this is set by the traffic department, not by us, and we'll show it in your quote before you pay.
Can I renew a licence disc for a vehicle that isn’t registered in my name?
Yes, provided you can supply the vehicle owner's ID and the current licence disc. If you're not the registered owner, let us know when you submit your documents so we can guide you on any extra requirements.
Do you renew licences for vehicles registered outside Gauteng?
Yes. We process renewals in all nine provinces and courier the completed disc nationwide — you never need to visit a licensing office in person.
Is there a limit on how many vehicles I can renew at once?
